Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official jobs notification of Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam 2024 for the recruitment to the 3712 Group C posts in the cadre of Lower  Divisional  Clerk/ Junior  Secretariat Assistant, Data  Entry  Operator Grade A and Data  Entry  Operator (DEO) in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc. 

SSC CHSL Notification 2024: The Staff Selection Commission has released the official notification for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination, 2024. The SSC CHSL 2024 notification is available on the official website of SSC at ssc.gov.in. According to the notice, the registration process began on 8 April, 2024 to 07 May, 2024. Total of 3712 vacancies have been announced for Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator posts.

Pay Scale:

i) Lower Division Clerk(LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): Pay Level-2(Rs. 19,900-63,200)

ii) Data  Entry Operator (DEO): Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) and  Level-5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300)

iii) Data Entry Operator, Grade ‘A’: Pay Level-4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100)
 

Age Limit: Candidates age must be between 18 to 27 years as on 01-08-2024 i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1997 and not later than 01-08-2006 are eligible to apply.. 
 
Age Relaxation: The category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below
 
# SC/ST: 5 years
# OBC: 3 years
# PWD: 10 years
# PWD (OBC): 13 years
# PWD (SC/ ST): 15 years
# ESM: 3 years

Educational Qualification:  
 
i) Data Entry Operator (DEO)/ DEO Grade ‘A’ in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Ministry of Culture: 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

ii) LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ (except DEOs in Department/ Ministry mentioned above):
Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

Scheme for SSC CHSL Exam:

Candidates applied online for Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Exam and found eligible will have to appear in Computer Based Examinations to be held in two tiers:

# Tier-I
# Tier-II

Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks.
 
Tier 1 (Computer Based Exam):

The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set in English, Hindi and any language opted by the candidate in the application form.

Type of questions: Questions will be Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions.

Total marks: 
200 marks

No of questions: 
100 questions

Negative marking: 
There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

Time duration:
 60 minutes (80 minutes for the candidates eligible for scribe as per official notification).

Tier 1 Indicative Syllabus:  

English Language: Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/ Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.

General Intelligence:
 It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/ pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic Series, Figural Pattern-folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Numerical operations, Other sub-topics, if any.

Quantitative Aptitude:

# Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers.

# Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.

# Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.

# Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.

# Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.

# Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin2𝜃 + Cos2𝜃=1 etc.,

# Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart.

General Awareness:  Questions are designed to test the candidate's general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

Tier 2 (Computer Based Exam):

Candidates who qualify for SSC CHSL Tier I will have to appear in SSC CHSL Tier II, which consists of two sessions, each with specific sections. In Session I, the questions are MCQ-type, while in Session II, there’s a typing test/ skill test to assess typing speed and skill. For more details, pl check official notification.
